Beware of Scam SMS Messages

Avo Insurance ("Avo") has recently been made aware of fraudulent SMS messages being sent by scammers impersonating our company. Avo hereby clarifies that we will never request customers to provide sensitive personal information, bank account or credit card details via SMS or embedded links, nor will we notify customers of policy payment arrangements through such means.

Since 22 July 2024, our company has registered as a certified SMS sender with the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA). All official SMS messages sent by Avo to Hong Kong local mobile service users strictly begin with a "#", and will only use “#AvoIns”, “#AvoIns HR”, “#AvoNotice”, and “#AvoUpdates” as sender names.

We urge the public to remain highly vigilant, avoid trusting any unverified SMS messages or calls, and refrain from clicking any links in suspicious SMS messages, calling back the sender, or disclosing any personal information to avoid potential scams. If you have any doubts, please contact our Customer Service Hotline at +852 3572 8222 or seek assistance from the police immediately.
